MQ Surfshop
Surf Culture in the heart of Ericeira
When the brand approached us, they were in search of a fresh design narrative to align with their evolving ethos. The canvas? An antiquated residence in Ericeira's historic core. The vision? A surf shop for the modern connoisseur.
With a discerning eye for spatial transformation, we dismantled walls to invite an influx of natural luminosity. The metamorphosis was meticulous, turning what was once a quaint restaurant into the epitome of surf chic—MQ Surfshop. Operating on a budget, we employed local marble tiles, artisanal paintings, and hand-painted floors to breathe new life into the space.
Our design language leaned towards minimal luxury, embracing the philosophy that 'less is more.' The concept was carefully curated, focusing on raw materials that exude an organic richness. Track lighting and epoxy-painted floors serve as a nod to the project's artistic undertones, while the exposed, time-worn wooden flooring and ceiling beams pay homage to the space's storied past.
In essence, MQ Surfshop is not merely a retail space; it's a sanctuary where the spirit of surfing meets the elegance of design, all encapsulated in a setting that honors both its historical roots and contemporary vision.
