Villa Vista
An Elevated Oasis of Artful Living
Perched atop a hill with sweeping views of a cherished beach, Villa Vista was a dream long before it materialized. When its captivating new owners reached out, the opportunity to transform their recently acquired European retreat into a sanctuary was irresistible. Though the structure boasted the architectural gravitas of a Caribbean plantation house, its interiors lacked a certain flow—a rhythm that needed to be orchestrated anew.
With a discerning eye, we reimagined the layout, delineating spaces that spoke to the family's unique lifestyle. New apertures were artfully blasted into the walls, inviting an abundance of natural light while seamlessly connecting the indoors to the verdant gardens beyond. Given the family's culinary inclinations, we fashioned a serene kitchen enclave where the act of cooking becomes a meditative experience, all set against a backdrop of endless ocean vistas.
In a nod to the home's original character, we engaged in a dialogue with its existing materials, infusing the space with organic textures and artisanal elements. The dining table, a bespoke creation, was crafted from a fallen tree sourced from a local forest. Handwoven rugs from the Atlas Mountains lay beneath chairs handcrafted in South Africa, while curated pieces from a local supplier—known for their collaborations with tribes from the depths of India—adding layers of cultural richness. Local artisans were commissioned to create ceramic sculptures, paintings, and photographs, each piece a tribute to the locale's creative spirit.
Today, Villa Vista is more than a home; it's a living manifesto of 'slow living,' a space where every object, every texture, and every view serves as a reminder to pause, breathe, and savor the beauty of the present moment.
